Shire of Ravensthorpe Council meetings are open to the public and all members of the community are invited to attend.
Council meetings provide the opportunity to listen to important discussion about matters concerning the community, and also to contribute by asking questions.
The meetings start promptly at 6pm and are either at the Ravensthorpe Council Chamber or the Hopetoun Community Centre.

As of January 2025 the Shire of Ravensthorpe is required to provide audio online of all council meetings. Members of the public who attend meetings and ask questions will be included in the recording.
This requirement under Section 58 of the Local Government Amendment Act 2023 (the Amendment Act) inserts a new section 5.23A into the Local Government Act 1995 and is aimed at increasing transparency and accountability.
The recordings must be published online within 14 days of the meeting taking place.
