Local roads

Local roads are those roads which are owned and managed by the Shire of Ravensthorpe, many of which are unsealed.

Local roads can be closed due to fire, maintenance or if they have been affected by weather. For example, Mason Bay Road (right) was recently closed due to water over the road.

These road closures are determined by the Shire of Ravensthorpe's Chief Executive Officer or their delegate.

Major highways such as the South Coast Highway that pass through the town of Ravensthorpe can also be closed due to fire, maintenance or if they have been affected by extreme weather conditions such as flooding.

These roads are controlled by Main Roads of WA. For more information on Main Roads in the Shire of Ravensthorpe please see the Main Roads Western Australia website.
