Local roads Local roads are those roads which are owned and managed by the Shire of Ravensthorpe, many of which are unsealed. Local roads can be closed due to fire, maintenance or if they have been affected by weather. For example, Mason Bay Road (right) was recently closed due to water over the road. These road closures are determined by the Shire of Ravensthorpe's Chief Executive Officer or their delegate. Major highways such as the South Coast Highway that pass through the town of Ravensthorpe can also be closed due to fire, maintenance or if they have been affected by extreme weather conditions such as flooding.
