Environmental Health
Council's Contracted Environmental Health Officer team is responsible for the implementation of the Health Act and other related legislation, in particular food handling and control legislation applicable to businesses, community groups and their staff and volunteers.
In an effort to ensure that all food handlers within our Shire have the appropriate skills and knowledge around food handling and hygiene, residents are able to complete a FREE online FoodSafe course, from the comfort of their own home.
FoodSafe Online Course - Free for Shire Residents
FoodSafe is an online training course, developed by Environmental Health Australia to allow individuals who wish to work or volunteer as a food handler in any capacity, the ability to receive basic food hygiene training.
Comprised of training videos and questions, this online training can be completed at a time that suits you, in the comfort of your own home.

If you would like to complete the FoodSafe Online course please visit the Environmental Health Australia website and select FoodSafe Online 2021. You can then register to complete the course.
On the Payment Details page, use the unique discount voucher code FSRAVENS379 and a $35 discount will be applied. An example of how to complete this section is available here.
Once Users have registered, they will receive an email with a link to log in to the training course. When the course is successfully completed, a certificate will be available that can be printed or downloaded.
Septic Systems
Septic systems cannot be installed anywhere within the Shire without the prior approval of Council's Environmental Health Officer Team. Application forms can be downloaded by clicking here.
