Citizenship for Colin
Australian citizenship ceremonies are an important part of Australia Day celebrations, with more people becoming citizens on January 26 than any other day of the year.
This year more than 14,600 people from over 150 countries became citizens at ceremonies all over Australia.
In Hopetoun long-time local Colin Hughes made the Australian citizenship pledge with his friends and family looking on.
Colin is pictured below with Lyn Daw who celebrated her 80th birthday on Australia Day.
