Unfortunately Coral Expeditions have advised they are unable to land the Coral Adventurer at Hopetoun as scheduled on Wednesday 9 October 2024 because of the forecasted weather.

The winds are strengthening which would make departure from Hopetoun very rough for the ship and the guests.

They acknowledged all the work and effort made to coordinate this visit and still hope to incorporate a stopover in Hopetoun in the future.

The Coral Adventurer, a 120-passenger cruise ship, was scheduled to anchor in Mary Ann Haven at around 12:30pm.

Around 90 passengers were due to be be ferried on shore where buses would collect them for a whirlwind visit to view some of our farm gate art and to get a brief taster of the stunning wildflowers in the Fitzgerald River National Park.

The cruise ship is one of Cairns based Coral Expedition’s fleet and is purpose built to access remote wilderness shores in Australia and internationally, that are often inaccessible to large vessels.

The company’s focus is to discover unique and remote destinations, and attract small groups of likeminded explorers eager to seek remote places. Coral Expedition runs cruises to places like The Great Barrier Reef, Papua New Guinea, Spice Islands, Kimberley and Tasmania.
