Verge collection important dates

Collection of residential waste from verges: Starts from 7am on Monday 30 Sept 2024.

Please place your items neatly on your verge from: Mon 23 Sept - Sun 29 Sept.

Waste items left on the verge or placed out too early will be considered littering and fines will apply.

Fire Control and Firebreak Notice 2024-25 now online

It is the responsibility of ALL landowners/occupiers within the Shire of Ravensthorpe to read and fully understand the requirements mentioned within the notice.

Firebreaks must be in place on 31 October 2024 and then maintained as per the Shire of Ravensthorpe Firebreak Notice 2024-25 until 30 April 2025.

Rabbit control program

A rabbit control program is due to be carried out by Southern Biosecurity Group from Sunday 18 August – Thursday 31 October 2024, subject to weather.

The program is targeting the greater Hopetoun area including Krystal Park and verges in all areas within the Shire of Ravensthorpe.

Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV), commonly known as calicivirus, is being used as the control measure.

Owners of pet rabbits are advised to ensure vaccinations against RHDV are up to date.

Details of any known large infestations of rabbits can be directly reported to Southern Biosecurity Group.
