A seat with rich local history has been installed at the Hopetoun foreshore for the community to enjoy.
The seat belonged to long-time Hopetoun resident Hazel Clarke and was made of timber from the old Hopetoun jetty.
After the jetty was demolished John Croker crafted the seat and for many years it was used by patrons of the Starboard Café in Hopetoun, which Hazel owned with her husband Don.
It was Hazel's wish that the seat be returned to the community.
Hazel recently passed away and her children all gathered at the seat in the new location, pictured below.
A plaque detailing the history of the seat and the old Hopetoun jetty has also been installed. The information on the plaque was provided by Andy Chapman from the Ravensthorpe Historical Society.
