At the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 21 May 2024, Council endorsed the Shire of Ravensthorpe draft response letter to the Western Australian Government’s proposed South Coast Marine Park (SCMP).
Council also approved the CEO to submit the letter and for it to be made publicly available.
The proposed SCMP has generated discussion amongst our local community with strong views both for and against the concept and/or elements proposed within.
A common viewpoint to all however, is that our natural environment (both land and marine) within the Shire of Ravensthorpe needs to be responsibly managed to ensure its long-term sustainability.
