The Shire of Ravensthorpe is pleased to announce Munglinup residents can now access water from Munglinup Dam after the completion of a multi-agency project to install a standpipe at the Reynolds Road facility.
While the Shire of Ravensthorpe will operate and maintain the facility, the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) provided $150,000 in funding for the project and Water Corporation provided land access for the facility to be constructed and will also supply the water.

During bushfire emergencies there will be no charge for accessing water, while farmers can purchase water for stock using a swipe card system.
Shire of Ravensthorpe Chief Executive Officer Matthew Bird acknowledged the project had been in the works for a considerable time and thanked residents for their patience.
“This is a great outcome for the Munglinup community who have been waiting a long time to access this water, ” he said.
“I’d like to thank them for their understanding and patience while the project was carried out. I also extend my thanks to DWER for coordinating and funding the project and Water Corporation for providing the water.”
The fee for purchasing water for stock is $3.08 per kilolitre (1,000 litres). Residents wishing to have access to the standpipe can contact the Shire of Ravensthorpe to obtain a swipe card.
