We're spraying for ticks in several locations across Ravensthorpe on Friday 1 November and Saturday 2 November 2024.
Australia is home to a diverse range of tick species, with some having the potential to transmit diseases to humans and animals.
Ticks are commonly found in outdoor environments, such as parks and wooded areas.
Controlling tick populations enhances the safety of outdoor recreational spaces, allowing individuals and families to enjoy nature without the constant concern of tick-borne diseases.
Where are we spraying?
We are spraying at the following locations which will be closed to the public while this work is carried out:
- Ravensthorpe community swimming pool on Friday 1 November 2024.
- The sports ovals at the Ravensthorpe Entertainment Centre and Sporting Complex and Ravensthorpe District High School on Saturday 2 November.
We appreciate your understanding and patience during this essential pest control operation.
Where can I read more about ticks?
Visit the Western Australian Government Department of Health website, which has a lot of information on the type of ticks that are the most common in our region.
