Collection of residential waste from verges will take place from 7:00am on Monday 30 September 2024.

Collection details

Verge collection starts at 7:00am and will begin in Ravensthorpe, then follow on to Hopetoun and Munglinup.

Staff will be collecting items with different vehicles and recycling as much as possible.

Each vehicle will pass each property only once, so it is important that your waste is neatly placed on your verge before 7:00am on Monday 30 September 2024.

Items placed on verges outside of the collection date or not collected due to non-compliance MUST be removed by Wednesday 11 October 2024.

Waste items left on the verge or placed out too early will be considered littering and fines will apply. 

What items WILL be collected?

  • Furniture: chairs, mattresses, lounges, beds
  • Empty, clean, degassed fridges and freezers
  • White goods, stoves
  • General household waste: toys, clothes, plastic products
  • Steel, metal, timber
  • Green waste

What items WILL NOT be collected?

  • E-waste (TVs, computer equipment and
    screens)
  • Tyres and batteries
  • Building rubble
  • Asbestos
  • Motor vehicles or parts
  • Gas bottles or any flammable liquids
  • Hazardous materials: oil, chemicals, paint
  • Glass of any kind: mirrors, shower screens, windows, outdoor tables
  • Domestic waste
  • Items longer than 1.5m

What do you need to do?

Please place your items neatly on your verge from Monday 23 September to Sunday 29 September 2024 prior to collection starting.


Sort your items into five sections:

  • General household
  • Furniture
  • White goods
  • Steel, metal, timber
  • Green waste

      Fridges and freezers must be clean and degassed with doors detached


      DO NOT obstruct footpaths or bin service
      DO NOT obstruct line of sight for pedestrians, cyclists or vehicles
      DO NOT create a safety hazard
      DO NOT place items too close to fences, trees, vehicles, power domes or other objects that may get damaged when the waste is collected
      DO NOT place items on any other verges as it will not be collected from vacant land or public reserves
